Black Haired Grren Eyed Actresses

Black Swan and posters

Since its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival 2010 many have been waiting for the premiere of "Black Swan", the fifth film by Darren Aranofsky starring Natalie Portman, secure winning Actress Oscar as the next installment of the Academy Awards gringa.

Having already seen the movie and confirming that in fact if the Portman deserves this award, I can focus on the film's promotional art. The poster you see above is the one we played in Mexico (English version of the international poster). And I think that is the least successful of the posters that the distributor has submitted to the geek world.

This is the official version of the poster international will in countries like England. Very telenovela for my taste.

Instead, the poster that difuncio in the U.S., maybe not the prettiest, but definitely the most spectacular and impressive. And more important, this is the one that best reflects the evil spirit of the tape.

And this is what Fox Searchligh classified as "international teaser art" film. For my taste the best of all, but it is understood that only a "taste."

And this last poster
not yet determine your "ranking" in the promotional art for "Black Swan." Although I think I prefer the international poster we had in Mexico.

Movie Preview: From Prada To Nothing

Jane Austen is for England than anyone is to Mexican culture. I would say that Austen is the novelist that has been adapted to television and / or English film from these two expedients. The way they portrayed the nineteenth-century English society is iconic in British culture.

Fina Torres, director of "Woman On Top ", adapting a classic novels of Austen," Sense and Sensibility ", the Latin world of Los Angeles. When many Dashwood sisters met with the faces of Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, will now be played by Camilla Belle ( Brazilian middle) and Alexa Vega (half Colombian) Adriana Barraza (Mexico) and the breast. And the handsome young men who were Hugh Grant and Alan Rickman, will now be Kuno Becker (Mexican) and Wilmer Valderrama (Colombia / Venezuela).

After several options for directors has finally made the film Angel Gracia, without much experience on your resume. The main locations were Los Angeles and Monterey.

Here's the trailer:

And the most fun is watching Televisa company has formed with L ionsgate: Pantelion Films.

According to the website: "Pantelion Films is the largest Latino first Hollywood studio and the new face of Hispanic entertainment."

"From Prada To Nothing" is the first release of Pantelion Films as this article says the New York Times. hope to expand their ideas about what "the new face of Latin entertainment."

it debuts in U.S. Friday, January 28th. No release date in Mexico.

Before I say that my posts are full of hatred, I begin by listing what I hate about the Oscars and film some "Mexican" in 2011.

  • Academy for the first time I lost when I got the Oscar for Best Picture to Shakespeare in Love .
  • Academy lost me again when Hilary Swank turned an actress with two Oscars to Jodie Foster and Meryl Streep . Total offense.
  • Academy offended me again when Baz Luhrmann received no nomination for Best Director for Moulin Rouge.
  • Ditto for Christopher Nolan Dark Knight and . (This happened again now with Inception)
For this and much more, the night of the Oscars is for me simply a famous snake day and know that movies need to sell more tickets in theaters.

I still feel the nominations of 10 movies as excessive, unnecessary and even counterproductive for the ceremony.

Anne Hathaway and James Franco as hosts did not love me. Will have to work a lot.

As every year there are surprises and failures to say the nominees. Mexicans at least we can be happy "Biutiful" . If many of us were angry that the Mexican Academy sent Inarritu's film, at least we can be happy that if the film is nominated and that his nationality is Mexican and not English. But honestly I hope he wins Denmark, I have not seen the film Susanne Bier but I'm sure is better made and more honest than "Biutiful."

But what head it (that of Carlos Carrera, apparently) send a film that is neither Mexican in one of the few years when Mexico actually produces something worthy of competition at the Oscars?

said, do not expect anything from the Oscars more than a humor that is presented away from the Ricky Gervais in Golden Globes, which gives a lot of hurt because that's just what Hollywood needs: someone who does not take seriously all the paraphernalia that is awards season.

Oscars 2011 New Music Tuesday: Oh Land

months of not writing in my blog and less on a Tuesday, today I have to recommend an exponent over Scandinavian pop music. Oh Land is the stage name Nanna Fabricius, a Danish girl who lives in Brooklyn (the new SoHo).

I discovered a few months ago in an interview in Interview Magazine . may not be new music, since it has an album and be first to launch the second, but still worth listening to his music and view videos.

Here is the link of your video "Sun Of A Gun" . (not found a way to put it here on my blog)

But it's worth seeing, is one of the best videos of 2010.

Movie Review: "Somewhere" by Sofia Coppola

So many things are wrong with this film, which gives me pain to write about it. Being a fan of Sofia Coppola film since "The Virgin Suicides" I never thought that his fourth film, premiered at Venice, was such a disappointment.

Now I understand how it works, then film festivals. I first had to understand what is the process of the Oscars and still housed in my hopes for the integrity of the 5 most prestigious film festivals / popular in the world: Cannes, Berlin, Sundance, Venice and Toronto. But after watching "Somewhere" I see that the festivals are as fragile as humans are integrating their juries. Quentin Tarantino was head of the jury that awarded prizes for this room Sofia Coppola film, drama starring Stephen Dorff and less known Fanning's sister, Elle.

Coppola The main characters are again in an isolated world, in this case, out of conviction. Johnny Marco lives, without explanation, in the famous Chataeu Marmont hotel in Los Angeles, which just goes to ride in his Ferrari to chase women down Sunset Boulevard, which seems to be the only street in the city portrayed by Coppola.

Where he walks, women are offered, people greet him, he was given drugs and even leaping into it without warning her daughter, daughter does not know which takes 3 years taking ice skating lessons. His status as an actor apparently have been marginalized as a paranoia that leads you to believe that all cars on the street are paparazzi pursue him. Life is so boring that even falls asleep while having sex with a stranger, showing the empty life of an actor in Hollywood.

are so implausible and exaggerated situations sequences Coppola plans not only make no sense, if not for the first time, seem pretentious and even lacking a budget. Performances by actresses who play women who are offended by just to see Johnny, they see either unnecessary cameo Benicio del Toro in the elevator of the hotel.

That if, for the first time, I admire one of the "muses" of Sofia. Kirsten Dunst never Elegance has the Coppola film requires and Scarlett Johansson has never been able histrionic that the role of "Lost In Translation" required of her. Instead Elle Fanning, has a fresh maturity for his age, never exaggerated as her sister. Such is the lack of dimensionality of Dorff's character, Elle steals the film with her role as daughter abandoned by both parents irresponsible. Johnny Setting How deep is reduced to a scene which seems to have "bottomed out" and seeks help from his manager by phone. A documentary on the life of Robert Downey, Jr. would be much more fun and interesting.
